AN interior designer says there are simple ways to make your home look more expensive without spending a fortune.
Kiva Brent insists she is “all about achieving the luxe look for less” and shared her expertise in an insightful YouTube video.

“Achieving the luxe look does NOT have to be expensive!” Brent wrote.
In a video posted last month, she broke down her six best tips, explaining how changes to paint, lighting, and wall decor can elevate a home.
DIY YOUR WALLS
“The first very affordable way to make your home look expensive is to paint designs on your wall,” she says.
Brent points out that wallpaper is extremely common in luxury homes – but it can be “very, very expensive.”
“We are going to use some leftover paint … and use that to create a design on our own walls,” she says.
“Your name does not have to be Matisse for you to do this, so before you get discouraged, you could do something very simple.”
She advises viewers to go to a wallpaper website to find inspiration, looking at the abstract and contemporary categories, which have repeating patterns that are easy to do free hand.
Paint designs on walls will look sophisticated “because you are adding visual interest.”
“That is something every luxury room has, and that is what separates luxury from mediocre design,” she says.
It also eliminates the need for artwork, which can be expensive.
