Aussie DIY fanatics are turning to Kmart to give their run-down homes the budget renovation of their dreams, and the results are jaw-dropping. The retailer delighted home reno fans when they launched their value home renovation range earlier this year, with many DIYers coming up with brilliant kmart-shopper-transforms-outdoor-table-with-26-product-230047555.html” data-ylk=”slk:hacks and quick fixes;cpos:2;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;” class=”link yahoo-link”>hacks and quick fixes.
Shoppers have been showing off their beautifully updated spaces, sharing transformations of everything from bathrooms to laundries. “Kmart white chalk paint on our mirror, and black chalk paint to re-vamp the vase and tissue box,” one person shared. “Hanging pots Kmart too.”
They also painted the bench top and added new taps and handles, modernising their rundown bathroom for “under $250”.
Other crafty shoppers loved the results too. “Wow! Huge difference well done,” one person said. “Absolutely gorgeous,” raved another.
Designer results on a budget
Meanwhile, another woman shared how she transformed her laundry on a budget using the range’s popular adhesive tiles, door handles and lighting. “Kmart wall tiles and floor tiles used to renovate my very old laundry,” she wrote. “Shoe storage was used as a cupboard with black containers which fit perfectly on the shelves.”
Using the $15 Vinyl Floor Tiles in Marble, the $25 Self Adhesive 3D Tiles in Scales, an $85 bamboo shoe cabinet and a few $5 black containers, the entire laundry room was brought back to life for under $300. Needless to say, keen DIY fans wanted all the details regarding how she did it and the woman was more than happy to share, saying it was super simple: she just “pulled the backing off and stuck them down.”
“Truly awesome job,” one person replied. “I can’t believe Kmart has these.” “Fantastic job,” another agreed. “Just beautiful.”
