Contemporary meets comfortable at this luxury furniture showroom

As a Vancouver staple, INspiration Furniture has been providing West Coasters with stunning, multi-brand contemporary pieces since 2002. “We’ve conducted a major renovation of our top floor and relocated the Natuzzi Italia brand to occupy this new 6,000-square-foot space, which is light and elegant with tone-in-tone Italian tile flooring and light walls with backlit images of the Apulia region of southern Italy,” says INspiration owner Steen Skaaning, a third-generation cabinetmaker by trade. “The area’s raw, barren landscape is featured, as well as accent arches representing the ancient architecture of the region. The latest collections, furnishings and accent pieces are on display, making this a must-see shop where visitors should allow time to lounge, relax and take it all in.”

The extensive renovations have allowed Skaaning and his team to introduce additional fine Italian brands to the store, including Arketipo Firenze, which is among Italy’s top-10 furniture fashion brands. 

“Edgy solutions, unique designs and uncompromising quality — Arketipo takes style where few dare to go — and yet, comfort is really the focus,” says Skaaning. “Each sofa features a feather/down cushion fill, soft and subtle leather and the best fabrics from European mills, all rolled into one. You must see it to believe it, and you must sit in it to feel it.”

Also new to INspiration is the Ditre Italia line, offering a full range of high-end contemporary pieces with unique and edgy designs, as well as Twils, often referred to as the Italian king of beds, says Skaaning.

“Though there are about 30 bed designs in the collection, Twils offers so much more than beds, including super comfortable upholstery and beautiful fabrics and leathers that enable the consumer to create unique looks without busting the bank.”

Representing more than 50 vendors from around the world, INspiration provides an in-home interior design service, where experts take measurements and to get to know each client’s space in order to align their recommendations with the intended budget and lifestyle.

“We know it can be overwhelming to redo a room or add a piece of furniture to your existing look, or to even start all over in a brand-new home,” says Skaaning. “Our interior designers are not only design consultants, but they are accredited and experienced designers, and they’re used to tackling these challenges and creating solutions unique to our customers and their lifestyle.”
